For World Wildlife Day, I put together some of my most memorable underwater wildlife encounters in my 10 years of diving. One of the most frustrating things we’ve had to witness in the last several decades is the overall decline of wildlife populations, mostly driven by human activity. Ironically, our own survival depends on the fragile ecological balance that nature has been able to sustain until very recently. But there is still hope. In very few special places around the world, life continues to thrive. May this be a reminder that there is still so much left in this blue planet to protect.
